Salsa dancing at The Blue Toes
"Salsa" is a collective term for different kinds of music and dance, like merengue, bachata and chachacha. Salsa is also the name that has been given to the music you hear at salsa parties: exciting, cheerful music with 40 to 80 beats per minute. The best known style is probably the Cuban style. The focus will be on this style. However, the other styles will not be forgotten.
Further on in the course the focus will be on the L.A. style: An American movement Which is mostly influenced by Latin dancing. The most important thing in the course will be, besides the fun and social contacts, that you’ll have the feeling that you have learned something new in every lesson!
The Blue Toes offers a new salsa course in September! For already experienced dancers there are two advanced groups. Look at the schedule for the times and locations of the lessons. For every group there are two free try-out lessons. So if you don’t know what you level is, come and see for yourself which lesson is the best for you.
The courses are for one year. Unlike last year there won't be a half year course salsa. All the salsa lessons are taught by a professional teacher.
No dancing partner?
When a men dances salsa, he has even more advantage than inballroom dancing. It is absolutely no problem to find a dancing partner. For ladies this is a lot more difficult. Also because there are not many assistants. As a lady you’ll have to be a bit more flexible than as a man. The ladies can change partners or do the man’s steps, so everybody can dance.
